Meritorious Aid - Which colleges give out most?

Hello! I'm curious, where might one have the best luck with merit aid? Which colleges are known to offer the most? Thanks in advance!

Quite a few colleges are known to offer significant merit aid, though the amount can vary depending on your qualifications and the institution's specific programs and policies.

For instance, University of Southern California (USC) offers several merit scholarships, including the Trustee Scholarship, which covers full tuition, and the Presidential Scholarship, which covers half tuition. Every student who applies to USC is considered for these scholarships, meaning you don't have to submit a separate application.

Rhodes College in Memphis is quite generous with merit aid too. They offer merit scholarships ranging from $5,000 up to full tuition. These scholarships are awarded based on your academic performance and test scores.

Drexel University, on the other hand, offers several merit scholarships including the Liberty Scholars Program, which offers full-tuition scholarships for Philadelphia high school graduates; and the Drexel Central Scholarships, that are awarded based on your application.

Each school will evaluate merit in its own way, though, so it's worth digging into the practices of the schools you're considering. Keep in mind that some schools may require separate applications for merit scholarships. It's always a good idea to continually monitor the websites of the universities that interest you, or even reach out to their admissions or financial aid departments.

Remember, while offering substantial merit aid, these colleges are selective, so having strong academic qualifications is important. The more appealing you are as a student, the more likely you are to see positive results in your search for merit aid. Good luck!
