Certainly, if you love the outdoors, a college with scenic surroundings and an active outdoor culture could be a great fit for you! Here are a few colleges that are known for their outdoorsy vibe.

1. Middlebury College: Nestled in rural Vermont, Middlebury provides ample opportunities for hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities due to its close proximity to the Green Mountains and Adirondacks. There are also many opportunities to participate in environmental conservation efforts.

2. University of Colorado Boulder: With its campus nestled at the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, you could consider hiking or skiing a part of the curriculum at this university! It's also minutes away from Boulder's extensive trail system and internationally recognized rock-climbing routes.

3. Dartmouth College: Situated in New Hampshire’s Upper Valley, Dartmouth offers the Dartmouth Outing Club, the oldest and largest collegiate outing club in the country, offering activities such as hiking, climbing, and canoeing. They even have a unique first-year trip program that introduces incoming students to the outdoors.

4. University of Washington: Located in Seattle, you'll find beautiful water landscapes and a vibrant cityscape intermingling. Distance isn't much with the Cascade and Olympic Mountains not far off!

5. University of Utah: Its location in Salt Lake City provides access to all sorts of outdoor activities, including skiing, snowboarding, climbing, and trail running. The nearby Wasatch and Oquirrh mountain ranges offer wonderful opportunities for immersion in nature.

These are just a few examples. Many more colleges can provide a similar outdoorsy experience, so research thoroughly to find the perfect fit for you. And remember, if you're applying to these schools, make sure to express your love for the outdoors in your application!
