College Football Stats: Which team has the least sacks allowed?

Huge football fan here trying to prove a point to my friend. We got into this discussion about which college football team has allowed the least amount of sacks. Is there some kind of a record or stats for this? If anyone knows, please let me in on it!

The NCAA keeps comprehensive statistics on various aspects of college football, including sacks allowed by teams. They regularly compile lists of teams who have allowed the least number of sacks in a given season. These statistics can change every year as new seasons are played, and you can find them on the NCAA's official website under the football statistics section.

However, I should note that having the least number of sacks allowed is not always directly indicative of the strongest offensive line or the most avoidance skills by a quarterback. Factors such as the number and quality of games played, playing style, and the number of passing attempts can significantly affect these statistics.

For example, if Team A played fewer games or attempted fewer passes than Team B, Team A may have allowed fewer sacks but not necessarily due to superior protection or avoidance. Conversely, a team with a mobile quarterback or a strong offensive line might attempt more passes and thus have more opportunities to be sacked, but still have a low sack rate.

Therefore while raw counts of sacks allowed can provide some insight, other metrics like sack rate (the number of sacks allowed per passing attempt) might be a better measure of how well a team's quarterback is protected.
