Least Popular College Majors?

Hey all! I'm trying to figure out where I want to focus my studies in college, and I thought considering what majors aren't super popular could be a good way to find a niche. So, what are some of the least chosen majors at universities and why might that be the case?

When considering less popular college majors, it's worth noting that popularity doesn't necessarily correlate with value or job opportunities. Certain majors may simply be lesser-known or more specialized, but still hold valuable opportunities for graduates.

For example, certain languages (e.g., Classic (Latin and Ancient Greek)) are often less popular simply due to contemporary language interests being focused more on widely-spoken languages. However, studying these languages can provide a strong foundation for future study in fields like law or philosophy.

Another less popular major is Mining Engineering, primarily due to the very specific industry focus and potential geographical limitations. However, it can lead to high-paying jobs due to this specialization.

Astronomy & Astrophysics is another major that isn't chosen by a large number of students. This is largely due to its high level of difficulty and the fact that it's only offered at certain schools. This major can, however, lead to exciting careers in space exploration and related fields.

Then we have majors like Agricultural Sciences which, while not as popular as other science majors, still offer robust job prospects and are critical for advancements in farming techniques, food production, and environmental research.

Educational Administration and Supervision is another less popular major, possibly due to its narrow focus and the investment of time (many educators gain experience in the classroom before moving into administrative roles). Graduates, however, have the potential to make impactful changes in the educational system.
