Military college programs in Pullman, Washington

I live in Pullman, Washington, and want to stay close to home while getting a military education. Are there military college programs based here or nearby?

Yes, indeed there are several options accessible to students like yourself who are eager to pursue a military education while remaining close to Pullman, Washington.

Firstly, Washington State University (WSU), located right in Pullman, offers the Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) program. The ROTC offers students the opportunity to learn and develop leadership skills and military knowledge useful in either a military or civilian profession. WSU's ROTC program includes two branches: the Army ROTC and the Air Force ROTC.

The Army ROTC program prepares students to become officers in the U.S. Army after graduation, and the Air Force ROTC program trains students to become officers in the U.S. Air Force. These programs blend academic, physical, and practical leadership training to set you up for success in the military or your civilian career.

A bit further out, the University of Idaho, located in Moscow, Idaho (about a 15-minute drive from Pullman), also has an Army and Air Force ROTC program. So if WSU does not align with your academic or personal preferences, you can look into the University of Idaho's options.

Lastly, a third nearby option is Eastern Washington University in Cheney, Washington which is approximately a 90-minute drive from Pullman. They offer an Army ROTC program.

Remember, while participating in ROTC programs, you are not enlisted in the military and you do not go to Basic Training. You participate in regular college classes like any other university student and also take military science classes and labs or leadership laboratories where you learn military skills and drills. Let me know if you need any other information!
