Looking for military friendly colleges in PA - advice?

Hello everyone! I'm a junior trying to kickstart my college journey. The path I'm considering is joining ROTC in college, to prep for a future military career. On that note, are there any standout military-friendly colleges in Pennsylvania? Any tips or advice are greatly appreciated!

Absolutely, Pennsylvania has quite a number of colleges that are military-friendly and also offer ROTC programs.

1. Penn State University: Penn State has a rich tradition of supporting its military and veteran students. Their ROTC programs (Air Force, Army, and Navy) are comprehensive and highly regarded, offering scholarships, monthly stipends, and leadership development. After graduation, you would be prepared to be commissioned as an officer.

2. University of Pittsburgh: The University of Pittsburgh also has Army, Navy, and Airforce ROTC programs. In addition to that, they have resources dedicated specifically to veterans, actively catering to their needs.

3. Temple University: Temple has an Army ROTC program with options for two-, three-, and four-year scholarships, as well as benefits for active duty military and veterans.

4. Villanova University: For a more intimate setting, you might want to consider Villanova. They offer Army and Navy ROTC programs and emphasize leadership development and teamwork.

In addition to researching each institution's ROTC program, look for higher education institutions that participate in the Yellow Ribbon Program. This program can provide extra financial support beyond the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which is a great asset for veterans or active duty military members planning to attend college.

Remember, not all ROTC experiences are identical; the culture and resources can vary widely from institution to institution. I'd advise visiting the schools, talking to current ROTC cadets at those places, and discussing your future goals with the program directors. This will help you gauge the best fit for your military aspirations and academic goals. Hope this helps!
