Shifting Gears: Spring Break Schedules

This might be a strange question, but does anyone know when most colleges have their spring break? I've been hearing different things and want to coordinate my plans accordingly. Any insight you can offer helps--thanks!

While it's not a uniform thing, typically, most colleges have their spring break in late February through early April. It really varies widely depending on the school, the state, and the district's academic calendar. Some colleges may choose to align their spring break with significant holidays like Easter, while others have fixed dates for when the spring break falls each year.

If you are trying to plan around specific colleges, the best course of action would be to look up their academic calendars online. This information is usually readily available on the school website. Just go to the search bar on the school's main page and type in "academic calendar" or "school calendar". This should give you an overview of important dates such as the start and end of the semesters, holidays, and indeed, the much-anticipated spring break.

Just keep in mind that due to COVID-19, many colleges have adjusted their spring break schedules over the past few years, so you might want to check directly with the universities you're interested in for the most accurate information. Some have shortened their breaks or dispersed them into several one or two-day breaks throughout the semester to discourage traveling and reduce the risk of the virus spreading.

It's great that you're thinking ahead and coordinating your plans. Enjoy planning your spring break.
