Hoping someone on here has some insight. I'm a junior right now and I'm from Georgia. Military junior colleges here are quite popular. Curious if anyone could recommend any based on their personal experience, or experiences they've heard from friends?
In Georgia, there are two popular Military Junior Colleges you might want to look into: North Georgia College & State University (NGCSU) and Georgia Military College (GMC).
NGCSU, located in Dahlonega, is one of six designated Senior Military Colleges in the nation. Despite the name, they do have a program for first two years much like a traditional junior college. They offer an Army ROTC program and depending on your future military career plans, this can be a beneficial route. The school has a good reputation, a beautiful campus, and an active student life.
GMC, on the other hand, is located in Milledgeville and is one of five Military Junior Colleges (MJC) in the U.S. The program at GMC allows students to complete a commission as a second lieutenant in two years, which is faster compared to four-year programs. Keep in mind, however, moving at a quicker pace might present more challenges.
Both colleges provide a unique opportunity for a military education and career, but they are different, so I would recommend closely researching both and considering which one aligns best with your career goals and personal preferences.
