University of Florida's military friendliness

Hi there, I'm scoping out my college options and the University of Florida is on my list. I'm planning on going into the military and want to know how military friendly this college is. Can anyone provide some insight into this?

The University of Florida (UF) is considered quite military-friendly overall and has a number of resources available for its military students. The UF Office of Student Veteran Success (OSVS) offers a variety of guidance and assistance for veterans and active-duty military students. They provide help with understanding military education benefits and how to utilize them, academic advising, tutoring, mentoring programs, and even transition assistance for those who are returning to civilian life.

The OSVS also runs a student-led organization called the Collegiate Veterans Success Center, specifically designed for veteran and military-affiliated students. This organization not only provides a space for veterans and military-affiliated students to study in a shared environment, but it also holds networking events, workshops, and community service events that military students can participate in.

In terms of academics, UF offers an Air Force and an Army ROTC program. These programs allow students to earn a commission as a second lieutenant in the U.S. military while also earning a college degree. ROTC scholarships are also available, which can help with the cost of tuition and other expenses.

Finally, UF has been recognized by multiple sources as being military-friendly. For example, it's consistently ranked in Victory Media’s "Military Friendly Schools" list, which recognizes schools that do the most to embrace military students and dedicate resources to ensure their success both in the classroom and after graduation.

Therefore, it seems like UF has a commitment to supporting its military and veteran students, making it a potentially great option for someone in your position.
