Good Online College for Military

Hi guys, I'm about to finish high school and I'm looking into online colleges but I'm also considering military service. Does anyone know of a good online college that caters specifically to military personnel?

Absolutely, there are several online colleges that cater to military personnel, offering flexible schedules and tuition discounts.

One noteworthy place to start might be the American Military University (AMU). It's fully online and has an extensive range of degree programs. AMU was originally founded by a former Marine Corps officer and is part of the American Public University System. Due to this, it particularly understands the needs of military students.

Another great school is Excelsior College. They are recognized for their dedication to military students and even allow students to earn college credit for military training.

One more to consider is the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC). They design their courses for working adults and servicemembers, offering a wide selection of career-focused bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.

These are just a few examples of online colleges that cater well to military personnel. The key thing is to find a program that fits your career goals and educational needs. Additionally, keep an eye on schools that accept military credits, provide tuition assistance, and have a record of success with military students.

Lastly, remember the availability of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, which can help cover the cost of tuition. This is an excellent resource that you may access after a certain period of military service. It covers tuition at public schools for in-state students and caps annual tuition for private or foreign schools but can be supplemented with the Yellow Ribbon Program for higher-cost schools.

You're embarking on an important journey – thank you for your willingness to serve, and good luck with your upcoming educational endeavors!
