Which universities are most generous with merit scholarships?

So, academics are kinda my jam, and I'm hopeful that my hard work will pay off in the form of merit scholarships. That being said, I was wondering if anyone knows which universities are known for being particularly generous when it comes to merit scholarships? Would love to lessen the financial load if possible!

There are quite a few universities known for their generous merit scholarships. Here are some institutions of note:

1. University of Alabama: UA offers generous scholarships based on GPA and standardized test scores. The Presidential Scholarship, for instance, covers full tuition for four years for out-of-state students and additional stipends for in-state students.

2. Tulane University: Tulane is known for the number of merit scholarships available. Around 20% of admitted students receive a merit scholarship. The Dean's Honor Scholarship, one scholarship offered by Tulane, covers full tuition.

3. Vanderbilt University: Vanderbilt offers three signature scholarship programs - the Ingram Scholarship Program, the Cornelius Vanderbilt Scholarship, and the Chancellor’s Scholars Program. These are all full-tuition, merit-based scholarships.

4. University of Southern California: USC offers a range of merit scholarships, some of which cover half tuition and others full tuition.

5. Duke University: Duke offers the Robertson Scholars Leadership Program, a highly competitive, merit-based scholarship that covers full tuition, room and board, and offers summer enrichment funding.

6. Boston University: BU's Trustee Scholarship covers full undergraduate tuition plus orientation and mandatory undergraduate student fees for four years.

Lastly, while these can be great opportunities, remember that merit scholarships at these schools are highly competitive, and applying to a wide range of colleges can help you ensure that you'll have affordable options. It's important to consider each institution's financial aid offerings and net price, which may end up being more affordable than a merit scholarship at another university. Always also suggest using a school's net price calculator to get a more accurate estimate of cost.
