Keeping it diverse: Most diverse colleges in the South?

Hey there, I’m just getting into this whole college process thing. I’m really interested in going to a school that's pretty diverse. Does anyone have any recommendations for the most diverse colleges in the South?

Sure, there are definitely a number of diverse colleges in the South, and it's wonderful that you're considering diversity in your selection process. Here are a few schools noted for their diverse student bodies:

1. University of Houston - It's a public institution with a high index of student ethnic diversity, as well as a strong commitment to ensuring diversity and inclusivity.

2. Florida International University -This university has a large student body, the majority of which are Hispanic, making it quite diverse in its student population.

3. Rice University - Despite being a smaller school, Rice University in Texas also makes diversity a priority. It boasts a diverse student body in ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and international representation.

4. Emory University - Emory, located in Atlanta, Georgia, prides itself on its cultural, religious, and socioeconomic diversity among students. They invest a lot in programs and resources to support their diverse student body.

5. University of Miami - Known for having a significant number of international students, the University of Miami presents a diverse environment.

6. The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - UNC Chapel Hill also takes diversity and inclusivity seriously, seeking to represent a wide range of experiences and backgrounds in their student body.

These are just examples and it's important to remember that diversity can mean different things to different people. It can come in the form of race/ethnicity, socioeconomic background, geographic representation, and so on. Be sure to do your research on any school you consider, checking out their Office of Diversity or similar to understand how that school invests in and values diversity.
