Calculus Online for High School Credit?

My high school only offers up to Pre-Calculus and I really want to take Calculus before I graduate. Has anyone successfully completed an online Calculus course for high school credit? Bonus points if it's UC-approved!

It's fantastic that you're looking to challenge yourself with Calculus before graduating high school! Many students in your position have had success with online courses. In particular, you'll want to check out the UC A-G approved course list, as these are pre-approved for high school credit and meet the UC standards. Providers like UC Scout offer a range of courses that are recognized by the UC system.

I would recommend touching base with your high school counselor to ensure that the course you choose can be integrated into your transcript and that you understand how it might affect your GPA. It might also be worth looking into whether there are local community colleges that offer dual enrollment opportunities, as these credits can also be extremely valuable both for high school and college.

Lastly, remember to balance your course load to avoid over-committing yourself, as admissions officers would prefer to see you do well in your current course load than struggle with an additional online class.
