Joining the Military and Attending Thomas Edison College?

I'm trying to map out my future (stressful process, huh?) and I was thinking of possibly enlisting in the military and attending Thomas Edison College. I heard that the military partners with this institution, is that true? What are my options in terms of the subjects I can study? Thanks a lot for any advice or shared experience!

Joining the military and subsequently attending a higher education institution is a common path for many individuals, and it might be a good fit for you as well!

Thomas Edison State University, which you mentioned in your post, indeed has a relationship with the military, offering several programs designed specifically for military personnel, and they accept military experience as college credit. This means that through your military training, you might be able to receive academic credit that applies towards your degree at TESU. It's also worth noting that TESU is a regionally accredited institution, so the credits and degree you obtain there will be widely recognized.

As for the subjects you can study, TESU offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in a wide array of fields. You can choose from a variety of disciplines like business, criminal justice, information technology, nursing, and psychology, among others. They also offer a self-designed area of studies option which allows you to create a personalized degree program.

One thing I'd recommend, should you decide to go this route, is to plan your transfer credits carefully. Be sure to fully understand what military training and experience will be considered for credit at TESU, and how it will apply to your chosen degree program.

Remember, joining the military is a big commitment and you should consider all aspects of it carefully. The military can offer a number of educational benefits, such as tuition assistance and the GI Bill, but it also comes with significant responsibilities. Be sure you're up for the sacrifice and commitment and that this path aligns with your long-term goals.

Good luck in charting your future. It's an exciting time, full of possibilities!
