International and Financially Anxious!

Hey guys, I'm from Sweden and planning to apply to colleges in the U.S, but I'm all stressed about the financial aspect. Does anyone know which colleges give the most scholarships to international students?

There's no denying that studying in the U.S. as an international student can be expensive, but many colleges do offer financial aid to international students. Some colleges have designated financial aid funds for international students, while others may consider all students for financial aid, regardless of nationality. Here are a few worth looking into:

1. MIT: MIT is one of the very few American universities that extend need-blind admissions to international students. This means your ability to pay doesn't affect your chances of admission. They meet 100% of the demonstrated need for all admitted students.

2. Harvard University: Much like MIT, Harvard also follows a need-blind admission policy for all students, which includes international students. They commit to meet 100% of demonstrated need. For families earning less than $85,000 USD, the parents pay nothing.

3. Yale University: Yale also offers need-blind admissions for international students, allowing applicants' admissions chances to be completely unrelated to their financial circumstances.

4. Amherst College: Amherst extends need-blind admissions plus meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need to international students.

Keeping these in mind, I'd recommend you to use the colleges' Net Price Calculators to get a sense of how much aid you could receive. It's also wise to speak with the financial aid office of these schools if you have specific questions. With a good financial aid package, studying in the U.S. can be within reach! Good luck with your applications.
