Are college campus aesthetics a good reason to choose a school?

As I was doing my college search, I found myself being drawn to schools that were ranked high in 'most beautiful college campuses'. I'm curious about other people's experiences. Are campus aesthetics actually a good thing to consider when choosing a college? Also, has anyone found these rankings useful during their search?

Campus aesthetics can indeed play a role in the decision-making process, but they should not be the primary factor. If the campus environment makes you feel more comfortable and inspired, it might positively impact your study and social life. However, more critical elements like academic programs, faculty, facilities, student life, and financial considerations should take precedence in your decision.

Remember, you're going to college primarily for an education that sets you on a good career path. Thus, you should prioritize aspects that directly contribute to this, such as the school's reputation for your major, the job placement rate, and opportunities for internships or research.

The rankings for most beautiful college campuses can be used as a starting point. They can introduce you to colleges you might not otherwise consider. But keep in mind, they're often based on subjective assessments, and everyone's aesthetics are different.

Visiting a campus (if possible) is essential. Photography can either magnify or diminish a school’s beauty depending on the vantage point of the photographer. Your own experience, feeling while you're there, the vibe from students, and the overall atmosphere is more important than any photographs.

In conclusion, while campus aesthetics can contribute to your experience and are worth considering, they shouldn't take precedence over academic and career considerations. Spend your time researching aspects of each school that will directly influence your education and future career.
