What are the most challenging classes in college?

Hey everyone, just being curious here. I've always heard about certain college classes that are notoriously difficult and I want to know what they are. In your experience, what were the toughest classes you've faced in college? How did you manage to deal with the challenges they presented?

It's important to note that the difficulty of a course can vary greatly depending on a variety of factors like the individual student's strengths, the professor teaching the course, the specific college, and more. That being said, there are certain subjects that are often deemed challenging by many students.

Courses in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields are often considered to be amongst the most rigorous. This can include classes like organic chemistry, physics, and advanced level math like calculus III or differential equations. These classes tend to be challenging due to their complex concepts, demanding problem sets, and high-stakes exams.

On the humanities side, courses that require extensive reading and writing can also be quite challenging. Examples might include upper-level literature or history courses, or philosophy classes that delve into complex theories and ideas. These courses might involve reading dense texts or writing long, well-researched papers.

Courses unique to specific majors, especially at the senior level, can also be incredibly tough. For instance, medical or law students often find certain courses particularly challenging due to the sheer amount of material or the complexity of the subject matter.

As for dealing with challenging courses, the key is good time management and consistent effort. It's often helpful to start assignments early, stay organized, and break study sessions into manageable chunks. Working with study groups or seeking help from the professor or a tutor can also be beneficial.

It also doesn't hurt to develop good study habits like reviewing the material regularly and taking comprehensive notes during lectures. Seeing these difficult courses as an opportunity rather than a burden can make a big difference, too. They can be a great chance to challenge your thinking, expand your skill sets, and learn new things!
