Which US state boasts the most colleges?

Hey guys, I'm a high school junior contemplating my college options. I think it would be cool to study in a state that has a lot of different colleges. Would anyone know which US state has the most colleges and universities? Thanks for any help!

Sure thing! The state with the most colleges and universities is California. There are more than 450 degree-granting postsecondary institutions in California, which includes a mix of public universities, like the University of California and California State University systems, private universities, such as Stanford and USC, and community colleges. It's one of the states with the most diversity in terms of the types and sizes of institutions, which makes it a great place to explore a wide range of educational opportunities. No other state can match the sheer volume and variety offered by California. The runner-up state in terms of number of institutions is New York, followed by Texas and Pennsylvania.
