Considering enlisting right after high school - thoughts?

Rather than going straight to college after graduation, I've been contemplating enlisting in the military. I thought maybe I could, like, gain some experience and discipline, y'know? Can anyone share how their enlistment process went, or the pros and cons of serving before college?
