Searching for Scholarships at The Citadel Military College

I have been researching scholarships for The Citadel Military College. Is there anyone that knows about any specific or unique scholarships that they offer? Any tips on how to secure these scholarships?

The Citadel Military College does indeed provide multiple scholarship opportunities, some of which are quite specific to the school, while others are more general in nature.

Firstly, every admitted student is automatically considered for the Starr Foundation Scholarship. You won't need to submit any additional materials for this particular scholarship.

Another unique scholarship to The Citadel is the Krause Center's Principled Leadership Scholarship. This relief award is aimed at students demonstrating principled leadership and character as evidenced by their involvement in extracurricular activities, community service and personal conduct — for this scholarship, you would need to complete a separate application.

There are also an assortment of Citadel Foundation Scholarships reserved for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors. You should check the Citadel Foundation webpage for more specifics and eligibility criteria.

As for securing these scholarships, my top tip would be ensuring that you exemplify The Citadel's core values in your applications, mainly honor, duty, respect, and leadership. Make sure you highlight experiences that demonstrate these values. For instance, if you've had significant roles in community service projects or organizations, or led initiatives in your school, definitely mention those.

On another note, even though the FAFSA might not be required for all scholarships, still consider submitting it to The Citadel, as it could open up opportunities for financial aid that you might not be aware of. The school's financial aid office provides personal counseling to help families navigate the cost of education, so don't hesitate to reach out for assistance.

All the best in your search for scholarships!
