Colleges offering significant financial aid to international students?

As an international student, paying for college in the U.S. is a big concern for me. Does anyone have any info on colleges that offer substantial financial aid to international students? Thanks, guys.

There are several U.S colleges known for offering significant financial aid to international students.

Harvard University, for example, is need-blind and provides 100% of demonstrated need, regardless of a student's nationality. This means it offers admissions decisions without looking at students' ability to pay and it also promises to meet 100% of your demonstrated financial need.

Yale University and Amherst College also have similar policies. They're need-blind and meet full demonstrated need for all students, including international students. This means that they determine your financial aid eligibility based on what you and your family can afford, not by arbitrary cutoffs.

Duke University, Columbia University, and Princeton University are other institutions that stand out for their commitment to providing financial aid to international students. Like the other schools mentioned, they meet full demonstrated need, but it's worth noting they are need-aware in their admissions processes for international students, which means ability to pay might be considered in the admissions decision.

In addition, colleges such as Macalester College and Skidmore College, while not being need-blind, are known to give generous financial aid to international students.

However, please be aware that there are different forms of financial aid (scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study programs), and it's worth researching what kind of aid these institutions offer. Also, applying for financial aid at these schools can be highly competitive, so it's important to apply to a range of schools to ensure the best options for you.

Remember to verify each school's policy on its website or by contacting the admissions office, because policies can change and it's always best to be sure.

Lastly, always look into international scholarships available in your home country that could assist with studying in the U.S. Good luck with the application process!
