Looking for colleges with beautiful campuses

Hey folks! Aesthetics are important to me, and I can't imagine myself on a drab campus for 4 years. So, can anybody suggest colleges that are generally agreed upon to have the most beautiful campuses?

Absolutely, there are quite a few colleges across the country known for their beautiful campuses.

1. Princeton University: Its campus is home to Neo-Gothic and Collegiate Gothic-style buildings, with plenty of gardens and green spaces. The ivy-covered buildings are picturesque and give a true classic college feel.

2. University of Colorado Boulder: The breathtaking views of the Rocky Mountains are enough to land CU Boulder on this list. The campus itself is traditional with red-brick buildings set amongst trees, parks, and bike paths.

3. Pepperdine University: Located in Malibu, California, Pepperdine offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. It's truly a sight to behold, with its beautiful Mediterranean architecture that blends into the Southern California landscape.

4. Stanford University: Stanford's campus is simply sprawling and serene. The architecture is unique with red Spanish colonial rooftiles, sandstone walls and large palm trees scattered around. It's designed like a park, with plenty of open space for biking, walking or simply finding a quiet study spot outside.

5. Swarthmore College: The scenery at Swarthmore is quite lush. The college was originally a Quaker meetinghouse and the fields, woods, and rustic stone buildings provide a sense of tranquility and calm.

6. University of Virginia: UVA's campus, or "grounds" as they are called, exude Jeffersonian architectural elegance. It has open green spaces, majestic brick buildings, and a long history.

7. Furman University: It's in South Carolina and features a stunning lake right in the center of campus. There’s also a bell tower and plenty of walking trails.

8. Duke University: Famous for the Gothic-style buildings, Duke's campus is characterized by shaded woodland areas, an on-campus forest, and sprawling, grassy quads.

Remember, what one person might find beautiful, another might not. Therefore, it's beneficial to visit these (or any) colleges in person if you're able. You'll get a better sense of what type of campus aesthetic appeals to you.
