Colleges that hoard the shot clock in basketball

Hi guys, I've been getting super into college basketball lately and I've noticed some teams that use the shot clock a lot. I'm soon to be entering the application process and was wondering, do any of you know which college basketball teams commonly use the most shot clock? Thanks for the help!

It's great to see you combining your love of basketball with your college search process!

In terms of NCAA Men's Basketball teams who frequently use most of the shot clock, Virginia Cavaliers, under coach Tony Bennett, have been known for a more methodical style of basketball commonly referred to as the 'Pack-Line' defense. This strategy often means their possessions eat up more of the shot clock, as they place a high value on careful offensive execution.

The Wisconsin Badgers are another team known for a similar style. Their "swing offense" often leads to long possessions and subsequently a slower pace of play.

Now, it is essential to note that these strategies can change as coaching staffs change, in response to changes in playing personnel or as different game situations dictate. Therefore, if the use of shot-clock time is a factor you're serious about, make sure also to check out each team's most recent playing style when you're applying.

Also, remember that while it can be a fun factor to consider, there are many other elements to think about in choosing a college, like academic programs, campus culture, and financial aid, to name a few.

Hope that helps and best of luck with your application process!
