Most LGBTQ+ Friendly Colleges

It's super important to me to attend a college with an active LGBTQ+ community. Do any of you know of colleges that have a particularly high gay population? Thanks for any insights.

It's wonderful that you're considering the LGBTQ+ community as a key factor in your college search. It's crucial to feel comfortable and included at whichever institution you choose. Many colleges in the U.S have active, vibrant LGBTQ+ communities with plenty of resources and student organizations.

Some key universities known for their supportive LGBTQ+ environments include Stanford University, which has an active Queer Student Resources group, and the University of California, Berkeley, where the Gender Equity Resource Center supports students of all orientations and gender identities.

The University of Pennsylvania has its Lambda Alliance, which is a terrific resource for LGBTQ+ individuals and works to promote inclusivity across campus. Similarly, Princeton University's LGBT Center offers supportive services and various programs for students.

Tufts University, located in the progressive state of Massachusetts, has an LGBTQ Center that provides resources and hosts events to educate the community while fostering inclusivity and equity. This state also hosts the University of Massachusetts, Amherst which is known for its Stonewall Center - an LGBTQIA+ Resource Center.

Another university to consider is Brown University, which provides support through the LGBTQ Center, and facilitates a safe, accessible and diverse environment for all students.

Keep in mind that while these colleges are known for their inclusivity, many other institutions in the U.S are taking significant strides in supporting LGBTQ+ students. It would be worthwhile to research these schools and even reach out to current students or the LGBTQ+ resources centers to get a better idea of what the community is like on each campus.
