Language Learning Opportunities in College: Where's the most offered?

Hi! I'm seriously into languages and already looking at colleges as a junior. Curious to know, which colleges offer the most languages for study?

If you're very passionate about languages, there are some colleges known for their linguistic offerings and great language learning departments. Here are a few examples:

1. Indiana University-Bloomington: They offer the most languages of any U.S. college. They have an over 80 language courses, including some of the less common languages such as Zulu and Tibetan.

2. The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA): This institution offers numerous language programs in more than 40 languages, ranging from commonly studied ones like French and Spanish, to less commonly offered languages such as Uzbek.

3. Columbia University: Beyond classics like Spanish, French, and Italian, Columbia has a wider range of languages including Tibetan, Zulu, and Yoruba. They have over 50 total languages.

4. University of Wisconsin, Madison (UW Madison): They also offer a broad range of languages, with 40+ options. Particularly, they're known for their progressive Less Commonly Taught Languages (LCTL) program.

5. University of Washington (UW): They offer around 60 languages, ranging from more commonly taught ones like Spanish and French, to less common ones such as Kazakh or Tigrinya.

Remember, the number of languages offered doesn't equate to the quality of a language program, so it's essential to consider factors like class size, study abroad opportunities, faculty expertise, and cultural immersion opportunities when you're looking at schools.
