Generous California Colleges: Scholarships Galore?

Hey, I'm from California and I'm hoping to stay in-state. Do any of you know which colleges give out the most scholarships in California?

While many California colleges offer scholarships based on factors such as academic standing, financial need, and specific talent or field of study, certain schools are acclaimed for their scholarship offerings.

One such institution is Stanford University - they're known for their generous financial aid packages via need-based grants thus not specifically 'scholarships'. If a student's family makes less than $150,000 per year, they're not expected to contribute towards tuition. If the family makes less than $100,000 per year, Stanford also covers room and board.

University of Southern California (USC) presents numerous merit scholarships including the Trustee Scholarship and Presidential Scholarship. However, competition is fierce, so students must display exceptionally high academic achievement to earn one of these awards.

UC Berkeley, while also focusing mainly on need-based grants, also provides several scholarships like the Regents' and Chancellor's Scholarship, the most prestigious scholarship offered to entering undergraduates.

For the Cal State schools, San Diego State University stands out. They offer a plethora of scholarships like the Weber Honors College Scholarship and the Presidential Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Awards.

Another noteworthy mention is the smaller, but prestigious, Harvey Mudd College. They disburse a multitude of merit-based scholarships to their students, so if you're aiming for a STEM-related major, it could be a great fit.
