Which colleges have the most homework?

Hey, I'm trying to get an idea of the workload I'm signing up for. I'm wondering if anyone knows which colleges have a reputation for giving the most homework? I've always been good at pacing myself with work, so I'm not easily scared off, but I'd love to get a sense of it before sending in my application.

While I can't provide an exhaustive list, several colleges are often noted for heavier workloads. Keep in mind, the workload can depend largely on your major and the specific courses you take. However, some schools are known overall for their rigor.

1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): Known for its intense workload, especially in STEM and engineering fields. Many students report spending a significant portion of their time on problem sets.

2. University of Chicago: The University of Chicago has a reputation for being academically challenging with a lot of reading and writing, especially for those studying humanities or social sciences.

3. Swarthmore College: Swarthmore is known for having an intense workload. It has a rigorous curriculum, especially for students in the Honors program.

4. Johns Hopkins University: Especially renowned for its challenging pre-med and engineering programs.

5. Reed College: Known for a heavy workload, particularly in the humanities.

6. Harvey Mudd College: Many students report rigorous science and engineering programs.

These are only a few examples, many schools may have rigorous programs based on the subjects selected. Remember, it's not just about the quantity of the work. Quality and efficiency matter too. Even if a school has a reputation for large amounts of homework, many students find they improve their time-management skills and can handle the workload. Good luck with your college search!
