What colleges are considered the most loved?

Hey y'all! I'm currently a Junior, and I've started exploring my choices regarding universities. I'm really interested in going to a college that has a great sense of community and camaraderie. I guess you could say a 'most loved' college by its students. Any tips on where I could find a list of these or if you have personal experiences, I'd love to hear them.

While there isn't exactly a compiled list of 'most loved' colleges by students, there are a few schools recognized for their powerful sense of community and school spirit.

1. Notre Dame: They have a strong sense of community, fueled in part by their residential life, with all undergraduate students required to live on campus for three years. The school spirit is equally robust, especially around their football team.

2. Duke University: Known for its high level of school spirit, especially exhibited through support for their basketball team—the "Cameron Crazies." Duke also has a unique housing system that encourages communal living and camaraderie.

3. Kenyon College: As a small, liberal arts college, Kenyon prides itself on its tight-knit, passionate community.

4. Dartmouth College: A smaller Ivy with a close-knit community, Dartmouth College boasts strong traditions and outdoor activities that bind its students together.

5. Rice University: Known for its unique "residential college" system (think Harry Potter houses), where students remain belonged to for all four years which creates a deep sense of identity and community.

Keep in mind, what one person loves about their school might not be a plus for you. Consider using CollegeVine's school search tool where you can filter by different factors based on what you prioritize, such as campus diversity, the availability of housing, or the prevalence of Greek life.

Moreover, attending virtual college tours and info sessions or connecting with current students or alums can give you an idea of whether you'd feel at home at that school. Interviewers, college admissions blogs, and student testimonials can offer valuable insights into the campus climate and the student community as well.
