Colleges with diverse student backgrounds

In my search for the right college, I find myself leaning towards campuses with a high degree of diversity. Specifically, it would be nice to find a place with a substantial population of Indian American students, as that's my cultural background. Anyone have recommendations?

Sure, it's understandable that you would be looking for colleges with a high level of diversity and a substantial population of Indian American students. There are several colleges out there known for their diverse student populations.

1. University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley): This institution is known for its diversity and robust Indian American community. Many Indian students choose UC Berkeley because of its academically rigorous environment and the existence of several Indian cultural clubs and organizations on campus.

2. Rutgers University–New Brunswick: Located in New Jersey, Rutgers is known for its diverse student body. It also has a significant Indian American population, thanks in part to its proximity to areas with a high Indian population, like Edison, NJ.

3. University of Southern California (USC): USC not only has a diverse student body but also robust programs and support systems for international and multicultural students.

4. The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin): UT Austin tends to have a diverse student population and has multiple organizations focused on South Asian culture.

Remember, finding a college is not just about the demographics. You should also consider factors like academic reputation, faculty, facilities, degree programs, and overall campus culture. Be sure to do your research and try to visit these colleges if possible to get a feel for the environment and see if you can envision yourself there. Good luck with your search!
