Colleges with a high Korean student presence

Hi! I'm currently a high school junior and I'm trying to find schools that have a high percentage of Korean students. Maybe it's because I find comfort in communities with shared cultural experiences, or I just want access to good Korean food on campus. Suggestions?

Sure, I can certainly suggest some colleges known to have a significant Korean or Korean-American population. In terms of the highest proportion of Korean students, it's often found in schools on the West Coast, due to its geographical proximity to East Asia. Here are a few to consider:

1. University of Southern California (USC): USC has a famous Korean Studies Institute and Korean culture club that regularly holds events.

2. University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA): You won't just find a strong Korean student organization here, but also a rich amount of Korean culture and cuisine in the neighborhood, given its proximity to Los Angeles' vibrant Koreatown.

3. University of California, Irvine (UCI): Like UCLA, UCI also benefits from its location in a diverse metropolitan area with a large Korean population.

4. New York University (NYU): Although it's on the East Coast, NYU also has a significant Korean student presence. The school is also located near New York City's Koreatown.

5. Harvard University: In the Ivy League, Harvard has one of the larger East Asian studies programs and numerous student organizations, like the Korean Association, which caters to students of Korean descent.

You can always attend cultural club events at a college to engage with your cultural heritage and make like-minded friends. And keep in mind that even if a school doesn't have a high percentage of Korean students, they could still have highly active Korean students' organizations.

Do research the communities at these schools and schedule a campus tour if you can. You might also want to take, for example, the availability of Korean cuisine into account, to truly get a feel for how much of a Korean presence there is.
