Written portion of ACT

Hey guys, so I've seen conflicting advice about this. Are most colleges requiring the ACT 'with writing' part? Or can I skip it?

Most U.S. colleges do not require the ACT Writing Test, but some do recommend it. As the test-optional trend continues to gain traction, many colleges and universities have dropped the essay requirement. However, it's essential to research the specific schools you're interested in to ensure you're meeting all their testing requirements.

While the writing portion may not be required, keep in mind that it can provide a fuller picture of your skills to colleges, especially if you're a strong writer. A high score might even give you an edge in some cases. Conversely, if you're not confident in your writing skills and the schools you're applying to do not require it, it might be better to skip it, so it doesn't drag down your overall ACT score.

Take the time to thoroughly research the testing policies of the schools on your list to determine whether it would be beneficial for you to take the ACT 'with writing' or not. As each institution may have different guidelines, it's crucial to tailor your ACT testing strategy to your specific circumstances and the requirements of your prospective colleges.
