Colleges with an intense love for nature: Who tops the list?

Hey there! I'm a huge fan of nature and I've been wondering about which colleges have a reputation for having the most trees on campus. Is there any place where I could find this sort of data? I'd love to attend a school where I can study surrounded by green space.

Hello! It's fantastic that you're looking for a campus lush with greenery! Several colleges are known for their expansive foliage and natural environments, though it's hard to pinpoint a resource that catalogs this kind of data.

Middlebury College in Vermont, for example, is renowned for its scenic setting in the Champlain Valley with majestic Adirondack Views. For its part, the University of California, Santa Cruz, has a campus nestled in a redwood forest overlooking the Monterey Bay. Reed College in Oregon is known for having a stunning canyon right in the middle of its campus. Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania is also renowned for its landscaping and named the Scott Arboretum after an alum; the whole campus is designated as an arboretum!

Willamette University in Oregon has an impressive tree collection - it received the Tree Campus USA recognition for its urban tree management, and the campus covers a substantial variety of trees.

Another great place to study surrounded by woods is Colorado College, which is located in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

Another tip: Don't forget to check out university tree tours or arboretum lists, which could be beneficial in your search! If a university offers tree tours or maintains an Arboretum, that might be a good indication of how much they value their green space.

Remember, the presence of trees and green space can vary quite a lot from campus to campus, so it's a great idea to try and visit if you can, or at least do some virtual tours to get a feel for the environment. Good luck in your search!
