Engagement and community involvement in colleges

Hi! I value community involvement and engagement in college. I've been looking into schools that really promote student involvement whether it's through clubs, organizations, or community outreach. Which colleges are known for having the most engaged students?

Colleges with reputations for having highly engaged students come in many shapes and sizes! Here are a few to consider.

1. University of Notre Dame: With over 400 student clubs and organizations focused on everything from academics to culture to service, students at Notre Dame are actively involved in serving their community and engaging on campus. Their Center for Social Concerns is also well-known for its commitment to community engagement.

2. University of Pennsylvania (UPenn): UPenn has over 450 clubs and organizations and a strong culture of engagement. Their Netter Center for Community Partnerships is dedicated to civic engagement and offers a number of academically-based community service classes.

3. Stanford University: Stanford has over 650 student organizations, in addition to the Haas Center for Public Service, which offers service opportunities and fellowships.

4. Vanderbilt University: Over 90% of Vanderbilt's students participate in community service and the university offers programs such as the Dores Engaged in Community Experiences program to foster students' commitment to engagement and service.

5. Dartmouth College: Dartmouth boasts over 350 clubs and organizations and also has the Dartmouth Center for Social Impact, which coordinates community service opportunities and fellowships.

6. Cornell University: Cornell has over 1,000 student organizations and many resources for community involvement, including the Einhorn Center for Community Engagement.

Remember, the size and nature of the school will also impact the types of opportunities available, so be sure to take into consideration other elements like school size, geographical location, provision for undergraduate research, etc. when deciding what schools might be a good fit for you.
