Graduating College and Entering the Workforce

Hi all! As a high school junior one of the important factors I'm considering before choosing my college and major is where I could work afterwards. Which companies are known for having the most college students on their payroll, both as interns and full-time employees?

There are a number of companies well-known for their internship programs and hiring of recent college graduates. While the specific companies could vary a bit depending on the major, here are a few that consistently rank highly across a variety of fields:

1. Google: Known for their competitive internships which often lead to full-time job offers. They are especially popular among tech and engineering students, but also hire extensively from fields like marketing, HR, and finance.

2. Big Four Accounting Firms (KPMG, Deloitte, PWC, EY): They have extensive internship programs and are one of the biggest employers of business and accounting graduates.

3. Goldman Sachs: Renowned for their prestigious internships and full-time roles in the financial sector.

4. Microsoft: Their internships often lead to full-time roles, particularly for computer science and related majors.

5. IBM: Offers internships across various departments and recruits graduates for full-time roles, particularly in STEM fields.

6. Intel: Another big tech company known for hiring numerous interns and entry-level employees in the fields of engineering, computer science, and related disciplines.

7. Procter & Gamble: Known for their management trainee program and internships, which mainly recruit business and marketing students.

8. Healthcare giants like Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Eli Lilly are prime destinations for healthcare, life sciences, and chemistry graduates.

While these companies are notable for their significant numbers of college student employees, keep in mind that they're highly competitive. Additionally, many other companies offer excellent opportunities for growth and learning. It's worth considering smaller or less well-known companies, too, as they can also provide great learning experiences and career progression.

Remember, it's beneficial to align your major and potential internships with your career aspirations. Exploring career opportunities in your field of interest early in your college journey helps to set clear academic and career goals.
