What is the average application deadline for most colleges?

Hey, guys! I'm trying to start putting together a calendar for my senior year to stay on top of all these application deadlines. So, does anyone know what the usual application deadline for most colleges is? I know it can vary by institution, but just wanting to get a general idea here. Thanks in advance!

Hi there! You're right, college application deadlines can indeed fluctuate depending on the institution and the application plan you're opting for. However, generally speaking, for Regular Decision (where you'll likely be applying to the bulk of your list), the majority of colleges have deadlines around January 1st or January 15th. Some may extend into early February, but this is less common.

Early Action (EA) and Early Decision (ED) deadlines are earlier, usually around November 1st or November 15th. There's also a second round of Early Decision (ED II) at some institutions, and this usually has a deadline around January 1st.

Keep in mind too that some colleges have rolling admissions where applications are accepted and reviewed as they come in, usually starting in the fall and continuing until all spots are filled.

Remember to verify these dates on the official websites of the colleges you're interested in, though, as they may vary. Also, note that financial aid documents like the FAFSA or CSS Profile have their own separate deadlines which may precede the application deadlines.

Good luck with your planning, it's a great idea to be ahead of the game!
