Summer Before College - Any Tips?

I'm already planning ahead for next summer. What's worth doing in the summer before starting college? Should I look for internships, take a break and relax, or maybe start studying my subjects in advance?

There's no one-size-fits-all answer to this question because it largely depends on your personal preferences and needs. However, here's a general guide of some activities you might consider pursuing.

1. Rest and Recharge: After all your hard work in high school, you might find it really beneficial to give yourself time to regroup before the next big step. This doesn't mean you have to do nothing at all. Spend time pursuing hobbies, catching up with friends, or perhaps try something new.

2. Familiarizing with Your College and Course: It can be helpful to spend some time understanding more about your college and the course you'll be studying. Familiarizing yourself with resources available at your college and brushing up on subjects related to your major can give you a smooth start. However, be careful not to overwhelm yourself - there'll be plenty of time to get into the swing of things when the term starts.

3. Work or Internships: A part-time job or internship can offer valuable life and work experience. Plus, a little extra spending money can always come in handy! However, it's important not to overwork yourself - burnout before you've even started college is the last thing we want.

4. Meaningful Experiences: Pursue activities that provide meaningful and fulfilling experiences. This could be volunteering, traveling, reading books you've always wanted to delve into but never had time for, or even just spending quality time with your family before you leave for college.

Remember, this is your time – use it in a way that feels right and fulfilling to you and you alone. It's a transition period, so taking care of your physical and mental health is crucial, too.
