Universities in the US Offering a High Number of Majors?

Hello all, I am a bit stressed out about making decision for my future major because I have interests spread across different areas. So, I thought that applying to a university that offers an extensive list of majors can give me the room to explore and finally decide. Can you point me to any universities in the US that are known for having a lot of majors?

Absolutely, there are a few universities in the US known for having a substantial offering of majors. Keep in mind though, having a vast number of majors doesn't always equate to excellence in all of them. Consider narrowing your interests to a few subjects and researching the programs at each institution in those areas.

1. Pennsylvania State University often comes up in discussions of universities with a wide array of major offerings. Penn State boasts well over 160 baccalaureate degree programs.

2. Ohio State University is another large institution offering a wealth of major choices to its students. They claim to offer over 200 majors for students to choose from.

3. University of Minnesota lists over 150 different majors across 17 colleges and schools. This is a good option especially if you're interested in disciplines across different fields.

4. Indiana University Bloomington also offers upwards of 200 different majors, covering a comprehensive range of disciplines.

5. Heading towards the West Coast, the University of California-Davis is known for its extensive range of academic programs, offering over 100 different undergraduate majors.

6. University of Texas at Austin provides over 170 fields of study within 13 schools.

When you're on the universities' websites, look up the required courses for the majors, department sizes, and faculty. This can give you an idea of which school might be the best class size wise or instruction-wise for you.

Remember, guidance counselors and resources like CollegeVine's Major Selector tool can help you hone in on what subjects you're most interested in so you can focus your efforts. However, attending a school with a wide range of offerings will certainly allow you to explore multiple disciplines if you're not quite sure where your interests lie.
