Age at Graduation

Quick question, how old are most folks when they graduate from high school in the U.S.? Just checkin' cause I have a late birthday and I'll be older than the 'average' age, whatever that might be.

Most students in the United States graduate high school around the age of 18. This can vary slightly due to when a student's birthday falls within the academic calendar and when they initially started school. For example, students with birthdays close to the cut-off dates for kindergarten registration in their state might start school at a slightly older age. Similarly, students who have skipped a grade might be younger than their peers upon graduation. So, if you'll be a bit older than 18 at graduation, please know this isn't unusual and doesn't have significant impacts on college admissions or future career trajectories. Each student's journey is unique and the focus is often more on academic preparation and personal developments during the high school years rather than age.
