Is Lewis and Clark College as beautiful as they say?

Hey, I’ve heard a lot about Lewis and Clark College having one of the most beautiful campuses. Can anyone confirm this? If you've been there or studied there, could you describe some of the standout features or sites on campus? Really trying to gauge what the atmosphere feels like before I make a decision. Thanks!

Yes, Lewis and Clark College is renowned for its picturesque campus, which sits on 137 acres of woods, lawns, and gardens. The campus itself is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, south of downtown Portland, and offers stunning views of Mount Hood.

There are a lot of standout features on the campus, but I would have to say that one that gets a lot of attention is the Frank Manor House, an English Tudor-style mansion that serves as the college's administrative building. It overlooks beautiful gardens that are often likened to an outdoor art museum, adding to the aesthetic appeal of the campus.

The campus is also home to various modern academic facilities. The John R. Howard Hall hosts classes in a wide range of departments, including Classics, Economics, and Philosophy.

The Watzek Library is another significant feature of the campus, which has been modernized in recent years. The exterior has a great deal of glass, which allows lots of sunlight into the interior, which is sleek but also filled with comfortable study spaces.

However, the natural setting is what really sets Lewis and Clark apart. The campus is surrounded by trees, and there's even Tryon Creek State Natural Area adjacent to the campus, which provides trails for hiking and jogging, as well as a space for students to indulge in research and exploration.

Hopefully, this overview gives you a better picture of what the Lewis and Clark campus has to offer. It blends both natural beauty and modern amenities to create an atmosphere that's both unique and conducive for learning.

However, remember that choosing a campus should not be solely based on its appearance, but also its fit with your educational and personal needs. But Lewis and Clark is certainly quite a serene place to spend four years!
