Least Dangerous High School Sports?

Hey there, I'm planning to try out for a sport at my school some time soon, but I've got some health concerns. I wanna be active but at the same time, I don't want to risk getting seriously injured. Any insights into which high school sports are generally considered the least dangerous? Appreciate it!

Sure thing! When it comes to low-impact and minimal-contact physical activities, the "least dangerous" high school sports typically include swimming, track and field, cross country, golf, or tennis.

Swimming is recognized as one of the safest sports since it offers a total body workout without putting pressure on your joints. However, make sure to follow proper techniques to avoid shoulder injuries.

Track and Field or Cross Country are great options if you enjoy running. There is minimal physical contact, and injuries mainly consist of overuse or stress injuries rather than trauma from contact.

Golf is also a generally safe sport. Golfers may develop back, wrist, or shoulder discomfort from golf swings if not done properly, but these are not typically severe.

Finally, tennis is another low-impact sport, but like the others, proper form is important to prevent injuries, especially to the shoulder and elbow.

Always remember that the risk of injury in any sport can be minimized by proper training, conditioning, and following safety guidelines. Having proper equipment and operating within your personal limits is also crucial. Despite some sports being considered 'safer' or 'less dangerous' than others, injuries can still occur. So it's equally important to take a preventative approach to ensure safety in your sport of choice.
