Most Economical Choice for Online College Literature Course?

I'm a high-schooler considering taking college-level literature courses online. The cost of courses can really add up though, so I'm wondering what the most economical options for online literature courses might be. Any recommendations?

There are numerous platforms where you can access college-level literature courses for a lower expense, and in some cases, even for free! Here are a few options:

1. EdX is a platform that partners with colleges and universities to provide course offerings. Many of their courses are free, but if you want a verified certificate of completion, there's generally a fee involved. It's a great way to gain knowledge without having to pay for college credit.

2. Coursera is another platform that offers college-level courses and some degree programs. The cost of individual courses varies, but many are in the range of $29-$99.

3. Khan Academy provides a variety of courses for free. They won't count as college credit, but you'll still gain the knowledge.

4. You could also check with your local community colleges. Many offer online literature courses for far less than traditional universities. Additionally, some states have programs for high schoolers to take community college courses for free or at a discounted rate.

5. Finally, make sure to look into College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) exams. If you can study independently and pass the exam, you can earn college credit for significantly less than taking a course. They offer a Literature exam you could consider taking.

One thing to note is that many of the free courses will not provide college credit. If you're looking for credit, community colleges or CLEP exams may be your best bet. Otherwise, if you're just looking to expand your knowledge, any of these options will serve you well.
