Which is the priciest university in Washington DC?

I've been checking out colleges in and around Washington DC. Do any of you guys know which one is the most expensive? And if so, what justifies its high price tag? Is it because of its reputation, location, or certain programs? Any insights will be appreciated.

In Washington D.C., Georgetown University is often cited as one of the most expensive universities. For the 2024-2025 academic year, the estimated total cost of attendance is around $85,000, which includes tuition, room, board, and other auxiliary fees like books, supplies, and personal expenses.

Georgetown's high cost can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, the university has a rich history and a strong national and international reputation, particularly in areas such as international relations, political science, business, and law. This reputation stems from the quality of education and the accomplished faculty at the university which justifies some of the cost.

Secondly, Georgetown's location within Washington D.C. provides students with unique opportunities for internships, networking, and career development, especially in government, non-profit organizations, and international institutions. The high cost of living in D.C. is reflected in the cost of attendance.

Lastly, the university offers an array of resources, facilities, and services to students. From state-of-the-art labs and libraries to comprehensive support services, these enrich the overall learning experience and student life.

However, it's important to remember that many students do not pay the full price. Georgetown meets 100% of the demonstrated financial need of eligible students and also provides merit-based scholarships. Therefore, the actual cost for students can be significantly lower based on their financial situation. Always check out financial aid options when considering any university.
