Most expensive college in the southern United States?

Hi everyone! I'm starting to narrow down my list of potential colleges and was curious to know which college in the southern U.S. is the most expensive on average? Just looking to get a sense of the cost spectrum. Thank you in advance!

The cost of attending college can vary greatly depending on factors such as location, the type of institution, and whether you're an in-state or out-of-state student. In terms of the Southern United States, one of the most expensive colleges to consider might be Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. Duke often falls among the top 10 most expensive colleges in the country, with a comprehensive fee (which includes tuition, room and board, and associated fees) that's over $80,000 per year.

That being said, it's also important to know that schools with high sticker prices often have considerable financial aid programs. Duke, for example, meets 100% of demonstrated financial need for all admitted students. So while it might have one of the highest listed prices, what students actually pay can vary greatly based on their family's income.

Just remember to use each school's Net Price Calculator to get a more accurate estimate of what you might pay, and bear in mind that many schools offer merit scholarships that aren't based on financial need. So don't let a high sticker price discourage you from considering a college if it's a great fit for you academically and culturally.
