Most exclusive colleges by state?

Hi, does anyone have a list or a source where I could find the most selective or exclusive college in each state across the U.S.?

While there's not a "one-size-fits-all" list that lists the most exclusive colleges by state, as this can vary by different criteria such as acceptance rate, you can individually research the acceptance rates of the prestigious universities in each state to get a sense of their selectivity. For instance, in Massachusetts, it would likely be Harvard as they have an acceptance rate of roughly 5%. In California, it might be Stanford with a similar acceptance rate.

But keep in mind, acceptance rate is only one metric. It can fluctuate from year to year based on the number of applicants, and it doesn't necessarily reflect the quality of the education or student experience. Every college, whether exclusive or not, can provide a rewarding and enriching educational experience that's right for different people for different reasons.

Another way to look at exclusivity is to look at public universities. Some states have globally recognized public universities such as UC Berkeley in California or the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Even though these colleges may not have the lowest acceptance rates, they are still very selective due to the high number of applicants and their reputation.

Remember to research thoroughly and consider factors that are important to you. Finding a good fit for you personally is the most important aspect in college selection. Good luck with your research!
