Any high schools known for high admission rate to UT Austin?

Hey guys, so I'm a Texan, and UT Austin is basically my dream school. As I'm starting my high school journey, I'm really curious: which high schools have the most students admitted to UT Austin? Any tips on how to take full advantage of this in planning my high school experience?

UT Austin, without a doubt, attracts many of its applicants from high schools within Texas. While it might be difficult to pinpoint specific ''feeder'' schools, large, academically rigorous public high schools, such as Westlake High School in Austin and Highland Park High School in Dallas, often send sizable cohorts to UT Austin each year.

However, please bear in mind that a high school's past success doesn't guarantee your admission. It's more about how you take advantage of the opportunities presented by your high school than the specific high school itself.

In preparation for UT Austin, here are a few recommendations:

1. Academics: work on maintaining a high GPA, taking rigorous course loads (think Honors, AP, or IB classes) and performing well on your SAT/ACT tests.

2. Extracurricular Activities: aim for Tier 1 and Tier 2 extracurricular activities and try to show significant commitment and leadership, focusing on your 'spike' – your individual and passionate interest that sets you apart from other applicants.

3. Essays: When the time comes, work on compelling essays that provide a deeper insight into who you are, your values, and your experiences.

4. Optional Resume: While not required, UT Austin does provide you with an opportunity to submit an expanded resume to highlight all of your achievements during high school.

Remember, UT Austin looks for students who will contribute to their community in meaningful ways, and exhibiting these qualities can significantly boost your chances, regardless of the high school you attend. Good luck on your high school journey!
