Which out-of-state colleges are generous with financial aid?

Hey there, so I'm a junior starting the crazy college hunt...and I'm really open to going out-of-state. However, cost is a huge factor for me. Can anyone share insight on which universities outside my home state tend to offer prospective students the most financial aid? Thanks, I really appreciate the help!

Certain universities are known to be particularly generous with their financial aid, often meeting 100% of a student's demonstrated need, regardless of whether a student is in-state or out-of-state. Here's a list of a few universities recognized for their generous financial aid practices:

1. Princeton University: This Ivy League institution fully meets all demonstrated financial needs and is known for giving generous aid packages.

2. Stanford University: Another top-tiered university that offers robust financial aid packages.

3. MIT: Financial aid packages here are typically substantial with over 90% having their full need met.

4. Dartmouth College: Known for meeting 100% of every student’s demonstrated need.

5. Vanderbilt University: It follows a need-blind admission policy, which means aid packages are awarded purely on need.

6. Brown University: It is also committed to meeting 100% of demonstrated financial need for all domestic students.

7. Amherst College: Offers generous financial aid packages, especially noted for being friendly to low-income students.

8. University of Pennsylvania: The university is committed to making its inclusive, innovative community affordable for all students.

9. Pomona College: This school is dedicated to meeting 100% of students' demonstrated financial need and it replaces all loans in financial aid packages with scholarship grants.

10. Swarthmore College: This college's Financial Aid Office works to grant each student a generous financial aid package that meets their full demonstrated need.

These institutions are known for their robust financial aid programs, but remember, every case is unique and the amount of aid awarded depends on your personal circumstances. I'd highly recommend running the net price calculator on each university's website to get an estimate of the aid you might receive. It can provide a more realistic picture of what your out-of-pocket costs might be at each school. Remember to consider other factors as well such as the cost of living in that particular area. Good luck with your college search!
