Which HBCUs have the best law school programs?

So, I’m currently a junior, and I'm thinking way ahead about law school. I want to start off on the right foot in my undergrad, and HBCUs really appeal to me. Does anyone have a take on which HBCUs have the strongest law programs or track records of sending grads to great law schools?

Hi there! It's wonderful to see you planning ahead for your law school journey. Several HBCUs are known for their strong pre-law programs and for successfully placing graduates in reputable law schools.

Howard University is a standout, as its own law school is well-respected, and the undergraduate program is known for robust preparation in legal studies. Spelman and Morehouse, while they don't have law schools themselves, have excellent track records for law school placements. Florida A&M University and Southern University also have law schools that offer compelling programs.

When you look at schools, consider their pre-law advising services, internship opportunities, and extracurriculars like debate teams or mock trial clubs, which could provide a strong foundation for law school. It could be helpful to reach out directly to these schools’ pre-law advisors to inquire about their law school matriculation rates and to gather more specific information about their programs. Best of luck as you explore your options!
