Most exciting summer road trips in the US for college students?

Hi! Now that I'm halfway done through my junior year and that means summer is right around the corner. I've been dreaming about hitting the road! Could anyone suggest some exciting, affordable, and fun summer road trips within the US perfect for college students?

Of course! Road trips are a great way to explore the amazing variety the US has to offer, especially when you're on a college student budget. Here are a few ideas:

1. Pacific Coast Highway: Journeying through California, Oregon, and Washington, this route, also known as Highway 1, offers breathtaking coastal views and stops at gems like San Francisco, Los Angeles, Big Sur, and Santa Monica.

2. Route 66: For a trip filled with classic American culture, embark on a trek along this route which stretches from Chicago to Santa Monica. You’ll encounter iconic landmarks like the St. Louis Arch and the Petrified Forest National Park.

3. Blue Ridge Parkway: This scenic drive through Virginia and North Carolina showcases the stunning landscapes of the Appalachian Highlands, and gives you a chance to explore the Shenandoah and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks.

4. Florida Keys Overseas Highway: If you're a beach enthusiast, this island-hopping route from Miami to Key West is your dream journey, with fun activities like snorkeling, fishing, and soaking up the sun in between.

5. Southwest National Parks Circuit: Starting in Las Vegas, you can reach some of the most spectacular National Parks in the country such as Zion, Bryce Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Joshua Tree, before looping back to Vegas.

Each of these road trips offers different highlights, from urban delight to natural wonders. You can camp or stay in budget-friendly hostels or motels to keep costs low. Remember to plan your itinerary carefully, considering the distance between stops and the time it will take to travel. Preparing meals rather than eating out constantly can also keep costs down. And most importantly, enjoy the adventure and freedom that comes with a summer road trip. Happy travels!
