Most Costly Colleges to Apply to

Hey peeps! Planning to apply to a bunch of colleges, but I just realized some have hefty application fees. Which are some of the most expensive colleges to apply to? And do you know if colleges offer fee waivers or any assistance with these costs?

Hello! That's a great question. Some of the most expensive colleges to apply to, based on their application fees, include Stanford University and Duke University, which have application fees of $90 and $85, respectively. Boston University ($80), Dartmouth College ($85), and the University of Southern California ($85) follow close behind with application fees of $85 each.

However, don't let these costs deter you from applying! Colleges understand that application fees can be burdensome for some students, and they do offer fee waivers. College Board offers SAT Fee Waivers that have benefits like college application fee waivers. Also, there's the NACAC fee waiver form that is available for students who meet certain criteria (like being an SAT/ACT fee waiver recipient, being enrolled in the free/reduced-price lunch program, or being enrolled in a federally-recognized Upward Bound program).

One way to save on application fees is by choosing schools that don't have any. For example, Tulane University, the University of Chicago, and several others have no application fee.

Additionally, if you're applying to multiple schools within the same university system (like the University of California system or the Cal State system), you'll only have to pay the application fee once.

Remember, every dollar counts when planning for college, so it's great that you're giving thought to these costs. Good luck with your applications!
