What are Some of the Toughest College Majors?

Hey everyone, I just want to know, what are some of the hardest college majors out there in terms of workload or complexity? I want to challenge myself, so I'm trying to do some research. Can you share some light?

Sure! The difficulty of a major can certainly vary depending on a student's strengths and interests, but here are a few that are notoriously challenging:

1. Engineering: Almost any specialty in engineering is known for its rigorous coursework. Whether it's Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or Aerospace, these programs typically require a high level of math and physics understanding.

2. Computer Science: This program can be very demanding due to the complexity of concepts and the fast-paced nature of technology.

3. Physics: Derived from mathematics, physics can pose a real challenge as it depends on complex problem-solving and understanding abstract concepts.

4. Architecture: Many might not anticipate it, but architecture is demanding due to its blend of theoretical and practical learning. Many hours are spent on studio work designing models.

5. Pre-medical Studies: Any major that is on the pre-med track, such as Biochemistry or Neurobiology, will be rigorous because the goal is to prepare for medical school.

6. Law: Similar to pre-med, pre-law studies demand a lot of rigorous reading and argument construction, making it one of the most extensive workloads out there.

A good way to approach this would be to lean into what subject areas you excel at, and then find a challenging major within those. Also, remember to balance challenging yourself academically with maintaining a healthy lifestyle and having some time for relaxation. College isn't just about academics, but also about personal growth, networking, and extracurricular involvement.
